MoM: Crawlers
Due to some serious sickness issues, still not a lot of painting. I got a fire giant queen from Reaper Miniatures coming up once I put myself to painting a bit. I did finish these two crawlers for Mansions of Madness.

MoM: Monterey Jack
And thus we live in December. I am still working on Mansions of Madness, at least I should be. I have been very busy painting four, really big and detailed, fire giant Bones miniatures from Reaper. This directly translates into not having a lot of time for Mansions of Madness.
The people at the tale of the boardgame painter over at warseer managed to motivate me to at least slap out a quick investigator. So I chose the simplest one I still had unpainted and this is the result of less then an hour of work. Not half bad for a boardgame.
I am thinking of painting some crawling ones in December. Game on!

MoM: Update time!
So... I had a nice vacation and chose to not update the blog. And with chose I mean I was too lazy. I did paint a whole damn lot, so expect some serious pictures over the next few days.
Lets get started with Mansions of Madness. I painted two more investigators: Vincent Lee the doctor and Mandy Thompson. I also manned up and finished the dark young of Shub-Niggurath. I definately had some fun putting a sawed off arm on Vincent's base.

MoM: Bob Jenkins (and a well of chaos)
And more painting has commenced! Another Mansions of Madness piece, the investigator, Bob Jenkins. A very easy paintjob. The suite was fun to shade. I usually dodge near-black, but it turned out fairly well.
And a quick shot of the Well of Chaos from Reaper Bones. Nice, quick, dungeon furniture.

MoM: Amanda Sharpe
So I had written up a nice blog post about Amanda Sharpe, from Mansions of Madness: Call of the Wild. It featured what my plans were, etc. Then I saved over it. Darn.
I don't quite feel like re-typing it all. So I will be brief. This is Amanda Sharpe. First model from Call of the Wild. Below you see progress on my Dark Young of Shub-Niggurath. Have a good day!

Fully painted Mansions of Madness
It is done! Here is the picture that shows all the models in Mansions of Madness, as painted by yours truly. Woohoo! Now I need to find some people to play a few games. Anyone!?
Regardless I am already slowly starting to paint Call of the Wild, Amanda Sharpe first. Bones painting is also starting up. Good times!

Last few Mansions of Madness models
I have finished my Mansions of Madness painting! Woohoo! Indeed. I have a few pictures of the models I finished last and I will also post a full set picture later on. I have been trying to get the hang of my new camera and your mileage may vary on these pictures.
Ashcan Pete
Shoggoth
Mi-go
Ashcan was a joy to paint, the shoggoth is much better then the first one I did, but the Mi-go are annoying to paint to the extreme!

Extreme zoom in and MoM: Cultists
I have been playing around with some seriously professional cameras with Ork de Rooij from Ork Photography. The guy knows how to take pictures, but normally tackles actual models, not miniatures. We went over a lot of techniques on taking the best pictures while our girlfriends were doing their hair (females!).
We got quite far with zooming in (extra macro rings, etc. etc.!) so I figured I'd show just how close we got.
I am eyeing a new camera to be able to do things like that. :)
Hit the zoom!
Afraid I promised myself to finish the base Mansions of Madness set before I do much of anything with the Bones. This does mean I got a serious want to finish the Mansions set! So here I finally took the time to finish the six cultists that come with the base game. These guys were quite boring to paint, but will liven up the board so much. Cultists are used in a lot of scenarios.

MoM: Jenny Barnes and Gloria Goldberg
I have not had the time to snap a few pictures of my most recent investigator paintjobs lately. I have actually been busy playing the game! Regardless what I painted Jenny Barnes and Gloria Goldberg. That only leaves Ashcan Pete (and his dog) for the investigators from the base game to be fully painted. Nice, nice.

Its been two months since I started painting Mansions of Madness and I
am well on schedule to finish by the end of the third month. Here is everything I painted in July.

MoM: Cult leaders and witches
Painting on Mansions of Madness has been going rather slow as of late. The miniatures are just not all that impressive. Six cultists, two cult leaders, two witches, those are all not really awesome to paint. Especially after painting a full cult earlier this year, the thought of painting a second cult is not something I look forward to that much.
That said I have managed to do some more work on them all. The cultists are in progress, but I managed to finish the cult leaders and witches. I am not happy at all with how the cult leaders turned out, but meh!

MoM: Maniacs
Been a bit busy lately. Not had enough painting time. Managed to finish the two maniacs from Mansions of Madness though. A quick, but adequate paint job.
My momentum is starting to slow on the entire set. I have now gotten to the really dull cultists and cultist leaders. *moan* Really quite boring to paint. I did start up the second shoggoth though, so that should be good.
Next up: I think cultist leaders.

MoM: Joe Diamond and Harvey Walters
I forgot to post pictures of Joe Diamond! Mainly because my lightbox was not accessible. In the meantime I also finished Harvey Walters! Good news. So here are some pictures.
Next up: Two maniacs!
In other news: I managed to get my hands on a Call of the Wilds expansion. And is it awesome! Some of the models are a bit flimsy, but the dark young miniature is really quite impressive. First to finish the original game's painting though.

MoM: Hounds of Tindalos
Had a great game of Mansions of Madness (The Inner Sanctum scenario) last friday. As the keeper I had two Hounds of Tindalos in play. Unfortunately they were not painted, which bothered me. So the day after I sat down and painted both of them.
I went with a color scheme I found on pictures from someone's paintjob and some nice concept art I found online. Blue tongues, who knew?
Next up: Joe Diamond?

MoM: Kate Winthrop
Good gawd, I forgot how annoying I find whites to paint. You can't go for white and then highlight, you need to start lower on grey or wash it up with black or some such. Kate Winthrop was good practice on my whites, but I shall be moving on to other colors again now.
Making good progress with Mansions of Madness. Which is good! I might actually finish this thing. We played a game of Mansions yesterday and it was nice to see 2.5 of the 4 investigators fully painted. The zombies were also all painted. It made the game look much better.
Next up: Joe Diamond, the private eye

Still churning ahead with painting Mansions of Madness. This here is the second painted investigator, Michael McGlen. He is a fan favourite because of that darned tommy gun! Next time Mr. McGlen! NEXT TIME!

MoM: Zombies
And here are the four zombies that come with the base game. I must admit they were really boring to paint and thus the paintjob is far from inspiring. I went for the gritty, dark, kind of zombies. In comparison I liked painting the zombies from Reaper Miniatures a lot better.

MoM: Sister Mary
And here we have Sister Mary, the first of the investigators painted for Mansions of Madness. I also worked ahead and did 20 bases so I can just base investigators without any problem whatsoever.
Next up: Zombies!
