Roper

And here is a roper! I felt like messing around with how to paint stone. So I grabbed this roper, who is supposed to look like it, and went at it. Lots of washes and blending. I added a bit of red, because otherwise he was just so boring (colorwise).

This is a Bones miniature from Reaper, from their 2nd kickstarter. Unfortunately I cannot link to the site, because it is not buyable in their shop at the time of writing.

Winter witch

This is a quick winter witch I painted for my upcoming campaign Reign of Winter (from Paizo adventure paths). The miniature is from the Stonehaven people, specifically from their elf kickstarter.

Dark elf assassin / Variël

This here is a dark elf assassin, but he was also Variël, undead hunter of Pharasma. Until a friendly GM one shot him at level 3... Ah well so are the times! Regardless I tried going for some object source lighting, it didn't really work out the way I wanted.

I like the way the cloak came about, gawd knows I spend most of the model's time there, but the rest is just rather bland. But hey they can't all be winners!

Pathfinder Red Dragon

Alright! I finally finished this Red Dragon (famous from the cover of the Pathfinder Rulebook). This model is from the Bones Kickstarter #1 and thus a Bones model. You can check it out on Reaper's site over here.

He has been on my painting desk for months now, always getting painted just a little bit and then put away again. Well when a couple of friends came over I finally manned-up and got down to finishing him. I am especially pleased with the wing membranes and the base (which is grey with a lot of yellow thrown in, and the grass really finishes the model).

Dwarf King

Here is a dwarven king on which I tried to use a lot of NMM. I am particularly pleased with his cloak. He is from Stonehaven. I barely have time to post these days, so I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

The trial of Cayden Cailean

Sometimes I have that nagging feeling to build a lot of stuff for a session. I had a one evening session to fill in for a regular GM. So I designed that Trial of Cayden Cailean, in which our heroes traverse a (ale filled) demiplane inside the Starstone Cathedral to get Cayden Cailean's approval for the test of the starstone. (Pathfinder talk).

It was a nice session, here are a few pictures.

A ghostly bunch

I sat down and got my ghosts finished. My first ideas was to paint these translucent miniatures with some drybrushing as to preserve some of their translucence. Unfortunately that did not work out for me. So I tried something new.

I took off-white and base coated them all. Then I started applying washes. These ghosts are 90% washes! Basing really finished them.
