Giant ticks

And here we go! Some giant ticks, ewww. Easy to paint, but good to use for all kinds of vermin. I am kind of in the mood for vermin now, so I am painting my four Otherworld miniatures centipedes next.

This model has been around on my desk for the last two years. I finally got around to finishing and updating it. As you might see the quality is not stellar, but at least she is finished. This is because of the serious inexperience painting I had back then.

This also finishes my set of three cavemen. I like finishing off old things.

Next up: Four Otherworld giant ticks. Easy painting. :) Have to catch up a bit with my one model a week rule after 3 months of no painting due to sickness.

Stonehaven Dwarf Huntsman + Boar

My lust for painting is starting to come back. This is good. I have a Pathfinder Society scenario coming up this weekend and thus had to get my player character ready. After a good long while I decided on a dwarf hunter (new class from advanced class guide). Good, I can paint a miniature no problem.

Yeah... hunters have animal companions. Like always. So that's two miniatures. Oh boy. So I selected the stonehaven dwarf huntsman who has a slain boar on his back. The boar comes seperately from the dwarf. I noticed that it sort of looks like he is jumping. Cool, I can make this work. I had to 'hide' some rope as scars, but I think I pulled it off.

Fire elementals

I finally finished painting my fire elementals project.

The project contains the following four minis:
- 77196: The small fire elemental (Bones)
- 77083: The medium fire elemental (Translucent red)
- 02251: The fire elemental (Dark Haven Legends)
- 77082: The large fire elemental (Translucent red)

I have to say it was fun to paint the small, medium and large ones... But the huge one was just a lot of work, phft!

I finished though! Woot!

Familiar: Bat

I have been painting four fire elementals. A small, medium, large and huge one in game terms. Enjoying the practice in wetblending and the freehand involved. It does take a while to finish all four though, so in the meantime I cranked out another familiar for the pack.

This is the bat. Some cork, texture paint and a bit of tombstone from Games Workshop skeletons and voila.

Marie Antoignome (and a wolf)

I got a bit of painting in on one of the Stonehaven gnomes models. I was 'convinced' by my girlfriend to go for a pink hairdo. At first I was like 'noooooo', but then I did it anyway. The model might feel a bit 'loud', but it is a gnome for crying out loud!

She was actually quite a joy to paint. Didn't take very long, nice clean model, yup I like it. I might do another gnome sometime soon.

In addition to the gnome I also painted up a wolf familiar. Kinda boring, but neccesary for someone's 'dog' on the gaming board.

Dain Deepaxe

Painting is going slowly with the sickness. Sometimes I get a bit of energy though and I finish something like Dain Deepaxe (in Bones material) by Reaper. A classic miniature that almost everyone has already painted. I chose to go with a traditional red and blue paintscheme. He has been on my paintingdesk for a while, but I finally managed to finish him.

He is meant as a player character I play in someone's campaign. Unfortunately that campaign is going along a bit slow, but a painted dwarf is a painted dwarf.

Brings my Bones painted miniatures up to 18. Think I'll shoot in a few easy familiars next.
